The Castilian crown would later order to free the slaves and bring them back home. The other slaves of the 1600 were kept as slaves for the colonists in the "New World".

[It's unclear if they departed from what is now Santo Domingo, but it is most likely, as it was the new settlement at that time, the new "La Isabela".]
